The BWY Foundation Course - Level 1 offers an exciting opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge and experience of yoga. It provides a comprehensive grounding in basic practical techniques taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins Yoga. It is an ideal preparation for those who may wish to train as yoga teachers in the future, but equally suitable for yoga students who do not wish to teach.
Whether you are looking to extend your knowledge of yoga philosophy and practice to enrich your personal yoga journey or to take the necessary step towards yoga teacher training, this is the course for you.
This 60 hour course is designed to explore yoga in more depth than you could in your weekly class and includes an introduction to;
Asana - practice, theory and Anatomy
Philosophy & History
Breathing techniques and Pranayama
Yoga Kriyas
Chanting
Concentration and Relaxation
Mudra’s
Exploration of different Yoga paths
The course is for everyone who would like to develop their knowledge and experience of yoga further.
What previous students have said about this course:-
“I have really enjoyed the BWY Foundation Course. It has been a great opportunity to delve into all aspects of my Yoga practise deeper. Paula has been a great teacher. The practical and collaborative workshop approach made the learning fun, interesting and informative. A great course if you have an interest in going on to teach yoga or like me you want to deepen your own practise.” Mary
“Really enjoyed taking Paula’s foundation course and I’d very much recommend it. She’s a great teacher and we’ve covered a lot of different and interesting topics over the course.
The extended classes mean we’ve been able to properly study asana and really try out and understand postures in some depth, which has improved my practice quite a lot. We’ve taken a look at the history of yoga and where it’s come from, learned and discussed some of the philosophy and theories behind the practice and we’ve tried out meditation and mindfulness techniques.
It’s been a really interesting and engaging course; I’ve learned loads, had fun and made some friends. Awesome.” Lee
The Foundation Course is not a teaching qualification.
